Fellow classmates....it is drawing near to the closing of our time together. I have to say that I will not cry many tears, as I have been so overwhelmed during this session with other obligations in my life, that to shed this burden will be like a 1 ton gourilla (can't find the spellcheck feature to check that word!) off my back (mentally if not anything else)!!
Thank you for the many nice comments...I wish you well in your continued endeavors along your education path. I hope to see many of you this summer, as next term I will just be juggling the family and my full-time job (that is enough, isn't it??).
Thank you Jackie, for once again challenging me to grow, and grow, and grow.

blog gadget at igoogle.com
I had an inservice today at school. It was exciting, as it was about Web 2.0 tools! Also, I found this gadget to add to igoogle that allows me to make posts to my blog, right from my homepage. Convenient.

Prezi and a week in review
I will be honest...I was dreading the Prezi. I have to say though (now that it is over), that it wasn't THAT bad. My plan with my prezi was is to have my 3rd graders sitting in front of the smartboard (where we have many lessons) with their Social Studies book. I made the presentation for Ch. 9 of our Economics Unit. The presentation would go along side the book discussion and reading.
For me...I do not personally like Prezi. I easily get car sick and when I watch the Prezi, it makes me sick, literally. It's the fast panning from one section to the next. I think it is cool, but...I would not enjoy those kind of presentations, but not because I am a techno phobiac... Just sensitive to fast movement. I think most of my students will think it's cool!
This week at school was good. I have a selective mute in my class (I am a long term sub). It has been so interesting dealing with him. I have really re-evaluated how I interact with him, and have asked my Para's to change their interactions. Hopefully we can help him with the anxiety he feels while at school. Funny as to how he has so much to do with the measurement of my personal success.

Super Bowl Sunday
Hello my "Using the Internet" class friends. I can't believe that today it the Super Bowl! I am finally done with my work, except for my blackboard discussion. On to that next. I don't know about you, but I found this week much easier as far as getting around google.sites and blogger. It's great to have the procedures "memorized." I didn't feel like I was battling those websites AND trying to get assignments done. YEAH!
Also, I kind of feel like my unit is coming together. Honestly, not sure it is something I will acutally use. Maybe parts of it (I like the TrackStar, E-Sheet, and Scavengar Hunt). I would like to design some games for my students to use, especially with vocabulary.
Well, I hope your team wins (whomever that is!). I know I am going to go enjoy good friend, good food, and good times!

Lesson Worksheets
I spent some time today at Web Poster Wizards. In my opinion, googlesites is not a very friendly program to use. I THINK I am finally figuring it out, but by the time I post next weeks assignments, I may have lost my edge. I have linked my worksheets to both my blog and the curriculum page.
What I do like is using these websites that allow me to create something, and then assign it a URL. That is nice! In a class I took last term, I could have used this ability.

Sue's Site's to visit
http://ssummerford.tadalist.com/lists/279059/public
I visited this website on our list of websites to check out. At this website, found a recommendation for a site called http://zonezero.com/magazine/essays/diegotime/time.html . I think this site was interesting to me for many reasons. One reason I like it is because this family had the foresight to record pictures of their family, EVERY year since 1976. I was only 5 years old when this family began taking pictures.
What a huge endeavor....On top of that, I do not know that I want my image stored, side by side, for prosperity's sake! I think I was the most intrigued with the aging process of the parents. I can't believe that he had a beard and mustache through the whole 33 years, and the woman had the same hairsyle except for 1 year.
Also, the two oldest boys are so similar. I think they looked like twins through most of the photos.

The other website that had links that I could see using in my classroom are located at: http://cogdogroo.wikispaces.com/StoryTools . This site has many different websites (50) to create and publish a digital story. My suggestion is to read the small write-ups on each website to see which one would best fit your grade level/age group.
